You know what's weird? Type "seven dead Mexico" in youtube......

and you get about 15 different incidences of exactly seven people dying in Mexico in 15 different ways:

Shooting
Bus accident
Brewery cleaning accident
Seven severed heads on side of highway (lol)
seven dead in bus crash
seven dead in truck show

I have a friend who lives in Mexico who told me two years ago that it's getting bad everywhere over there but they keep it hush-hush so it doesn't hurt tourism.

My wife's dad and stepmother also frequent back and forth and recently came back saying that even the better parts of Mexico are dangerous now.

I just got back from a 6 day trip to Mexico City. We stayed in Polanco which is an extremely safe part of the country. You just have to know where you are and stay out of bad areas. I work in Miami. I know to stay out of Liberty City (or Miami Gardens).

And if you don't know, make sure you are never with 6 other people or your heads might be looking at each other on the side of the road.

I have been going to PV Mexico for over 30 years. Not a problem ever. In fact, we will be leaving for PV at the end of the month for 60 days. Like any place be aware of your surroundings. Don't put yourself in a bad situation.

Fuckin really sad. For years (2012- 2016 we would choose Cancun over Hawaii simply because it was cheaper, more to do, & arguably even prettier. It was nice that the cartel and government made a pact that Cancun was off limits to territory wars because the tourism was such a cash cow. We haven't been back since now that it's become more violent.

Were headed to Punta Cana this summer.

I always felt like the resorts were safe. I'll stick with Hawaii from now on. Mexico is fucked up dude.

When ppl who are Mexican who live in in Mexico full time, part of the time, and/or frequenting there, tell me/us that it's slowly getting bad everywhere, I just have to believe it.

I feel like EVERYWHERE is getting worse. Just world in general. It's hard to go out in many big US cities and not come across pan handlers and homeless people everywhere. You feel like you have to watch your back more than ever. Go to a bar a night and risk getting robbed or in a fight.

I imagined that was the case... although don't really care.

One thing of interest is that Tripadvisor will censor any kind of negative activity/news on their site.

It's good that you don't care but, still started a thread about it. Cool.

Headed to PV tomorrow looking forward to punching the button to see if I get Green or Red light.

Then off to the tequila store, you guys every drink the oak barrel aged Tequilas? God damn maybe the best straight up alcohol in the world , I like Bourbon and Rye but this stuff is even better.
